At CapesWildlifeRescue, we believe that working together is essential to giving wildlife the best possible chance of recovery.
We are proud to recognise the rescues and wildlife organisations that form part of our trusted network. Whether through specialist knowledge, rehabilitation support or helping animals access the care they need, collaboration plays an important role in wildlife welfare.
Below are some of the rescues we recognise and value within our network. We encourage members of the public to contact the relevant organisation directly for advice, subject to their availability and admission policies.
At CapesWildlifeRescue, our approach to wildlife rehabilitation is guided by one fundamental principle: wild animals belong in the wild.
We believe that rehabilitation should always aim to give animals the best possible opportunity to return to their natural habitat, wherever their condition and welfare allow.
For this reason, our trusted rescue network does not include organisations whose approach involves routinely keeping wild animals in permanent captivity when they could otherwise be released, including the long-term confinement of animals in cages, enclosures or secure domestic gardens.
We do not support keeping wild animals in captivity simply because they have a disability, physical impairment or other lasting condition. A disability does not automatically mean an animal cannot enjoy an appropriate quality of life in the wild, and decisions about release must be based on an individual assessment of the animal’s functional abilities, welfare and suitability for release.
Where an animal genuinely cannot be released, its future must be considered carefully, with its welfare, natural behaviours, environmental needs and long-term quality of life taking priority over human convenience or the desire to keep it.
Our position is simple: We believe rehabilitation should be about restoring wild lives, not creating a lifetime in captivity.
These principles guide the organisations we choose to recognise within our trusted network and reflect our commitment to responsible, welfare-led wildlife rehabilitation.

Every wildlife rescue has its own facilities, experience and capacity. By maintaining relationships with other organisations, we can help identify suitable options when an animal requires specialist care or when our own facilities are unable to accommodate further admissions.
We remain committed to responsible rehabilitation, high welfare standards and making decisions based on the individual needs of each animal.
Together, we can give more wildlife a second chance.
Please contact organisations directly to confirm their current availability, admission criteria and the species they can accommodate. Inclusion on this page reflects CapesWildlifeRescue’s trusted network and does not imply formal accreditation or regulatory endorsement.
