Fundraising Events & Supporting Our Rescue

Together, we can make a difference for wildlife.

At CapesWildlifeRescue, every animal that comes through our doors deserves the opportunity to receive appropriate care, recover and return to the wild wherever possible.

Providing that care takes time, dedication, equipment and resources. From food and bedding to veterinary supplies, medicines, specialist equipment and suitable accommodation, the costs of wildlife rescue can quickly add up.

As an independent wildlife rescue, we rely on the generosity of our supporters and local community to help us continue our work.

Fundraising helps us turn compassion for wildlife into practical, lifesaving support.

Whether you would like to organise your own fundraising event, take on a personal challenge or support one of our existing initiatives, we'd love to hear from you.

Why Fundraise for CapesWildlifeRescue?

Every donation helps us work towards providing appropriate care for injured, sick and vulnerable wildlife.

Funds raised may contribute towards:

Fundraising also helps us plan for unexpected admissions and the changing needs of the animals we care for.

Every contribution, whatever its size, can help support our work.

How Can You Fundraise for Us?

There are countless ways to raise money for wildlife, and you don't need to organise a huge event to make a difference.

Community Events

Bring people together for a good cause by organising an event in your local community.

Ideas include:

Even a small event can raise valuable funds while helping more people learn about the work we do.

School & Youth Group Fundraising

Schools, colleges, Scouts, Guides and other youth groups can make a real difference through wildlife-themed fundraising.

Ideas include sponsored activities, non-uniform days, bake sales, creative competitions and educational wildlife events.

These activities can also help young people develop a greater understanding of animal welfare, conservation and the importance of protecting British wildlife.

Personal Challenges

Looking for a personal challenge with a purpose?

You could take on a sponsored walk, hike, run, cycle, swim or another activity to raise funds for CapesWildlifeRescue.

Whether you're aiming for a major challenge or setting yourself a smaller personal goal, your efforts can help support wildlife rehabilitation.

If your challenge involves physical activity or travel, please plan it safely and choose something appropriate for your circumstances.

Business & Workplace Fundraising

Local businesses can support our work by organising workplace fundraising activities, holding a charity day, running a sponsored challenge or making a contribution linked to a business milestone.

We also welcome enquiries about suitable fundraising partnerships and community initiatives.

If your business would like to support CapesWildlifeRescue, please contact us to discuss possible arrangements.

Online Fundraising

Online fundraising can help you reach friends, family and supporters beyond your immediate community.

You could create a fundraising page for a personal challenge, share our appeals or organise an online campaign around a particular rescue need.

Please contact us before setting up a fundraiser in our name so that we can agree the arrangements and ensure our rescue's name, branding and fundraising information are represented accurately.

Organising Your Own Fundraising Event

We are always grateful when people want to support our work. If you are considering organising an event for CapesWildlifeRescue, we encourage you to get in touch before making arrangements.

This allows us to discuss your plans and establish how we can best support your efforts.

When contacting us, please tell us:

We can then discuss your proposal and any practical arrangements.

Please note that fundraising events are organised subject to agreement, and our team may not always be available to attend events in person.

Can CapesWildlifeRescue Attend My Event?

We welcome enquiries about opportunities to raise awareness of our work at community events, school activities, local fairs and other suitable occasions.

Depending on availability and the nature of the event, we may be able to discuss providing information about the rescue, wildlife awareness materials or other appropriate forms of support.

Our primary responsibility is to the animals already in our care, so we cannot guarantee attendance at every event.

Live-animal appearances are not guaranteed. The welfare of our patients comes first, and we will not subject wild animals to unnecessary travel, handling, noise or disturbance for fundraising purposes.

Where appropriate, we may instead be able to share photographs, educational information or examples of our rehabilitation work.

Fundraising Responsibly

We want every fundraising activity associated with CapesWildlifeRescue to be safe, transparent and conducted responsibly.

Anyone organising an event or collecting money in our name must agree the arrangements with us in advance.

Depending on the activity, organisers may need to consider venue permission, insurance, health and safety, food hygiene, safeguarding, data protection and any applicable rules for raffles, lotteries or other prize-based activities.

Please ensure that funds raised are handled securely and that supporters are told clearly how their contributions will benefit the rescue.

Do not imply that an event is officially organised, endorsed or attended by CapesWildlifeRescue without our agreement.

We may ask organisers to use agreed wording and branding to help ensure that fundraising appeals are accurate and transparent.

Thank You for Supporting Wildlife

Fundraising is about more than raising money. It brings people together, spreads awareness and helps build a community that cares about the wildlife around us.

Every cake sold, mile completed, event organised and donation made contributes to the support available for animals in need.

As an independent rescue, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who gives their time, energy and generosity to help us continue our work.

Your support helps us give wildlife a second chance.
